Syllabus:
Course of Digital skills covers the content for training in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) technologies in the fields of Textile and Clothing industry (TCI). Topics in the course have been selected after an analysis of the current industry needs for education in the area of ICT. The course is intended to meet the augmented needs of 21st century for ICT knowledge and digital skills in TCI. The course includes a number of reading materials, practical excercises and self-assesment quizzes.
Welcome to the staff trainees version of the "Digital skills" course.
Trainees in the staff target group include professionals that are employed in textile industry. This version of the course includes more practical assignments and is divided into two core modules:
Basic computer literacy and skills
Advanced ICT topics
You should consider making the self-assement test at the end of each module, after you have completed the materials.
Experienced users are also encouraged to complete the test for Module 1, to determine whether to move straight to Module 2.
Module 1: Basic computer literacy and skills
The topic on "ICT fundamentals" will introduce you to some basic concepts and paradigms in computer systems and information technologies.
Next topic is on "Basic digital skills and tools" and will go through the most important features of the contemporary office applications - for editting text, manipulation of electronic tables and creation of presentations.
"Tools for business digitalization" will get you acquainted with the main tools, used nowadays for facilitation of teams collaborative work over the internet. It will also introduce you to some more important notions in ICT as Cloud computing.
An important matter in textile industry is how to transfer color from the computer to printed materials and vice-versa. The topic on "Computer graphics and visualisation" will introduce you to the basics of presentation of graphics and color in computer systems.
Software engineering deals with the process of creation of new software or modifications in existing one. As a textile profesional you will get advantage if you know how to communicate with software developers and how to better express your needs. The materials for the topic on "Introduction to software engineering" will help you in that.
Artificial intelligence is the most fast developing domain in ICT. It has almost indefinite application in many areas, including textile technology. The following topic will introduce you to the area.
As a continuation of the previous course topic, Analitycs, Business Analitics and Big-Data, will add on to your knowledge on how to improve the business in textile industry.
The topic on "ICT in Enterprise Management" will introduce you to the main techniques and tools for management of your enterprise with the help of ICT.
