Fabric Storage and Spreading Tables

Fabric Storage

In apparel industry the fabric rolls has to be adequately stored in their ware house. Not just the storage is important but also how the fabric rollers are transported from storage to spreading machines for spreading. This is more important for fine fabrics. Most important thing is the adequate and good treatment with fabric.

Spreading Tables

Spreading of textile fabrics for cutting requires a smooth and flat surface on which the cutting process can be performed in case of manual cutting or may serve as an intermediate surface for spreading for transferring it to CNC cutting machine. The spreading table must has to be wider than the width of fabric. Ideally it should be at least 25 cm wider than fabric roll. It may have some rail system fixed to top or bottom along its length to guide/control the spreader loaded with fabric rolls during spreading.

A fabric lay spread can go in length of over 10 meters and lay height of well over 5 cm. In this case the fabric lay becomes also very heavy to move it to the cutting station. For this purpose special spreading tables are designed. Apart from the stable steel construction and special surface treatment, these tables diffuse air below the spread and help to move the lay to cutting station. The air reduces the friction between the lower surface of spread and the the table and forms a thin film. It helps to transfer the whole spread with less efforts to cutting table.

Spreading tables are also equipped with conveyor belts which can carry the lay to automatic cutter.
